In-School Performance Workshop

We have different scenarios which content is age appropriate for grades K-5 & then slightly more mature for grades 6-12.

During our In-school performance our emcee introduces our organization and asks the students for their definition of bullying. She/He travels through the audience allowing the students to be actively engaged while giving their answer. Once students have answered, the text book definition is given. A scenario is introduced by summarizing the story they’re about to watch. The dancers enter the stage & dance out the scenario. The emcee returns & recaps what the students have watched. She asks leading questions about possible alternate endings & who was affected. Again the students interact answering questions, giving their opinions and thoughts. Once given the correct prompt from the students the emcee reintroduces the alternate ending, the”happy” ending scenario. Wrapping up and summarizing how much better the outcome was had someone stepped in the emcee emphasizes that everyone is loved and not alone. An additional demonstration with a student volunteer is done to illustrate how mean words, phrases, & actions really do change a person. In conclusion the dancers are brought back on stage for the students to meet.
